Just picked up a winter project for cheap, a 2001 2500 4x4 gas truck. The dash is lit up like a christmas tree The CEL is just evap (could even be just the gas cap) so ABS is on top of the list.
Two questions:
Did anybody successfully read ABS codes with something else than the DRB-III or similar high end tools ? I use a Bosch reader (claims to read ABS codes on 'most' Chryslers from 1996 on) and when it goes through reading ABS codes it has the exact truck year/model/drivetrain as a selection but it still fails.
Given that the speedo works is it fair to assume there is no issue with the rear sensor ? Aside from the front sensors any more obscure points of failure ?
Thx !
