been working to tone down the chrome on my 14 big horn...just added a color matched grill ( removed chrome grill) and have essentially just left w the chrome bumpers, which i think i can live with
my question is has anybody swapped the silver quads out for the black versions and noticed any change in headlights at night?

based on the few ive seen on the road, i think the black would look great w my blue streak color, but dont want to sacrifice light output. I know there are other options, but the oem replacements seem reasonably priced and i am happy w my current quads w the bulb upgrades and reaiming.
thanks

I switched mine out wasnt apples to apples because bulbs in the black quads were upgraded by previous owner but I would assume not much change If at all.

I swapped mine with the black OEM quads. I didn't notice any change in the headlight output. That said, I did replace the bulbs recently with LED bulbs and got a significant improvement over the quads with halogen bulbs.

Nope, but I also added LEDs, on my 2015, swapped just to brighter H9 bulbs.

IMO, black housing on blue streak pearl looks better/cooler, but I've noticed the silver quads have slightly better immediate area output than the sport/black quads

There should be no optical change with black over chrome. The polished reflector surfaces themselves remain "chrome"...only the bezels change color.

I ordered factory black quads from the dealership pretty early on. put Philips crystal vision bulbs in. Output has been the same.

No the wheel was slightly turned when I parked. Alignment is perfect. Even had the unwanted draglink recall done. I snapped this pic when I was moving 1 of my smokers.

I've had these oem black quads for over two years on 2 different trucks now. Upgraded from halogen to LED, Looks MUCH better and properly aimed the light output as well as the look is well worth whatever the cost

I know the feeling, I've been waiting on a rifle stock from ProMag for 2+ months too...
