I recently bought 18" Fuel Hostage wheels with some 35x12.50 Nitto trail grapplers wrapped around them. I installed the rims, only to find out there was 4 black plastic spacers in the box with the center caps that I didn't notice before. Does anyone know what the spacers are for? It almost looks like they're supposed to mount behind the wheel itself. I sure hope not since I already installed them. Thanks!

Taking a guess that the wheel manufacturer included them to keep the aluminum wheel from touching the steel rotor. Dissimilar metals can cause issues over time with getting an aluminum wheel to come free when you need it to.

I had those black spacer like things when I got my wheels. I believe it's to help centre on the hub when you put the wheels on. I think they should be used just take off wheels and they pop right in on back of wheel then bolt back up

They're called hub rings.
Like said above, they center the wheel on the hub.

If you're not having a problem with vibrations then there's no need to get them. That's what they help with.
