I recently had to replace driver side rear spat because body shop that worked on it didn't put it back on. When installing it I used to double sided 3M automotive tape to help hold it in place and act as a buffer between the trim piece and my paint. I did notice it doesn't conform as close to the body of the truck as the other spat pieces do. Didn't do it before I put the 3M tape down either. What am I missing? Do the other spats have an automotive adhesive that helps them conform to the side of the truck? Thanks in advance. Picture below for reference.

They are held on with two (If I remember correctly) screws on the inside and one push pin fastener underneath. I have replaced them a few times while installing splash guards, let me know if you need any further assistance.

I understand how it mounts inside the wheel well, and below, I'm referring to the side of the truck where it wraps around.
