Ok guys long time GMC guy but considering the switch to a Limited but have a few questions.

With the off-road package you get what results in a 1" lift correct?

With the air ride suspension can you set the height and it stay on all the time? The reason I ask is I would like to go to a bigger tire, not a fan of the smallish looking tires that come standard.

Thanks in advance.

It stays in Normal until you exceed 62 mph, then it lowers to zero mode.

It won't stay in Off Road, past 20 mph +-.

I'm up sizing my next set off tires too. Let us know what works for you.

20 in. Wheels.

Yea unfortunately that's what I was afraid of. I guess the question then becomes how big of tire will fit in zero mode and then does it go back up to the preset position once you drop back below 60. I can't believe there isn't a work around to keep it from dropping. I love my nitto's .

I don't know about 5th gens, but on 4th gens you could keep the truck from going into aero mode in the uconnect settings.

You can adjust the "normal" ride height of the air suspension by replacing the stock suspension links with adjustable ones. You can also easily level your suspension this way. Lots of information on this if you google it.

On the 5th Gen., you can manually set the ride height. There are five settings. 0-5, 0 is lowest setting, then Aero, then normal and 2 settings off road. 0-5 is about 2 - 2-1/2 inches.

4th gens are the same way, there are switches to raise or lower the truck. I was referring to what iowa ram said about it automatically switching to aero when you hit 62 mph. You can turn that off in the uconnect settings.

Better off starting with the Rebel model and specify the 33-gal tank which most dealers do not order for the trucks they buy.

I spend too much time in the backcountry to take a chance on an air suspension that could fail. Having coil springs on the 1500 trucks already makes for a soft car ride.

Raising a truck is something I would also not do as a higher COG is the last thing I want with a 4WD pickup on the highway or on the trails. But if you only drive to the supermarket then no worries.

I have new limited with air ride. You can get kit that fools computer to leave at set height no matter what speed. I have 35’s NOT TRIMMING OR RUBBING at ALL

perfect - i am looking at going to a taller tire ... do i 'have' to have the kit to leave ride height for the taller 35'' tire?

Just a point of clarification - while 4th gen trucks do have 5 height positions, only 4 of them are selectable (5th gen they are all manually selectable). The Aero mode cannot be manually selected. It will only be engaged if enabled in the settings and you go above 60 MPH, and then it will disengage when you go below 25. Also, OR2 will revert to OR1 at 25 MPH and OR1 will revert to Normal at 40.

Too many variables to give a definitive answer.

I have 35 x 12.50 General Grabber ATx* on stock rims with 1/2" spacers, and the front lifted 2" via adjustable links, and I still get some rubbing (back of the wheel arch) even in OR2.

*Not all 35 x 12.50s have the same specs. They can easily vary +/- 3/4" in dia and 1/2" in width.

I have a 2020 Limited, and you can change the settings so that it does not automatically go into aero mode at 62+mph, and I've never had an issue putting it into aero mode manually unless I have a trailer hooked up. Since changing the settings, I never see aero mode unless I select it manually.
