I’ve read that a lot of people like the Goodyear MTR’s for quiet sound. But no one mentions ride quality.

No way that Goodyear Mud terrain is going to be quieter or smoother then most other All terrain or street tread tires. (mud tires hum by nature of the tread pattern)

Are you looking for a mud tire or just any 35? If you are looking for quiet and smooth I think I would lean towards something like a Nitto dura grappler or terra grappler G2? Those tread patterns are far less aggressive and will ride smother and make less noise

I’m looking for a 35 that looks beefy on my 22’s.

But I do a lot of highway driving for 2-3 hour periods, and want the smooth quiet ride.

Beefy and quiet/highway driving just don't go hand in hand. Going to have to choose one or the other.

Beefy is going to be noisy and wear out fast with a lot of highway driving. Those MTR mud tires you looked at will be worn out before you know it with a lot of highway driving.

Nope, you may need to stick with what you have unless your driving situation changes..

The Falken Wildpeak at3 has an semi agressive sidewall design with a nice all terrain pattern. Have not had them but hear good things. Also the bfg KO2

I've got Cooper STT Pro's in 35's and for a mud terrain it's reasonably quiet compared with other MT's I've been exposed to.

+1 for the Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Just picked up a set and drove about an hour on the interstate on the way home. Had to turn the radio all the way off to just see if I could hear them.

Pulled in the driveway and my 6 year old boy comes out and says, “Those tires are awesome!”.
