I tried to search but came up empty for my exact question. My truck has the RA1 with Bluetooth but no satellite radio. I am swapping it out for an RA2 that has the connection for satellite radio. Do I need a separate tuner for it to work of does the antenna plug directly into the radio with nothing in between?

Do you have the XM antenna on your roof?

The RA1 has SiriusXM. My truck had that. If you don’t have it now, you may not have the antenna (it will be a little puck on your roof)

No it does not. I know I'm gonna have to get an antenna. I just don't know if there is a tunner between the radio and antenna.

So I figured I'd update this thread on my findings incase somebody else is looking for the same information I was. The tuner is built into the radio. I found out my original radio was called a UA1 my mistake for calling it a RA1. All I used was a small aftermarket antenna with an adapter to the factory connection on the back of the radio and it worked perfectly.
The back of my original UA1
