Ra2 to Ra4

Im am sure this question has been asked but I cant find any info yet on it .So I want to buy a used Ra4 radio from different truck to put in mine .I have the Ra2 with xm .I have read that you have to do something with the vin and/or theft issue .Can someone point me to where I can find info on this install .It is a 2015 unit to my 2016 truck .Seller will provide vin number of truck it came out of .
