Anybody who has done any street racing against other trucks, what are the main things you do to increase performance without completely screwing your truck? For instance, I've heard turn Traction Control off, I've heard goods and bads to stomp the gas off the line and I've heard give throttle and release the brake...which is better and what other advice can you give? Again...just on the street, not tracks or anything like that.

Thanks

Based on your location you should consult the "Street Outlaws"! Sorry, couldn't help myself. Spinin ain't winnin. Do whatever gives you the best traction when you leave. Getting the rpm up while holding the brake is fine if you don't lose traction. When you release the brake and step down on the fuel if it spins back off and let it grab.

Fearing that this information will only encourage you to "street race", I would suggest you look at a few things that will not affect your warranty if that is any concern for you. You might want to look at a Pedal Commander, a more free flowing exhaust and a CAI(although recently members have found that for street use the stock intake system is adequate). Also if you have a 2wd truck you can look at different gear ratios ie; 3.92 or 4:10's. You should also look at the Core 4x4 rear lower control arms to prevent wheel hop at full acceleration from a stop. Do you have a limited slip diff?

100 shot of NOS, make sure you have good welds on the intake though...

Just for the record the intake manifold is a composite manifold, little tough to weld with a mig or tig set-up,lol.
