Radio bezel AC outlet

My floor console came with the matching radio bezel, and it has the AC outlet for plugging in a household plug. My question is, do I need to buy the DC>AC factory converter? It would be nice to have the outlet working.

IIRC, the factory inverter mounts under the front passenger seat. There's a DIY on adding it here: http://www.ramforum.com/threads/how-to-add115v-ac-outlet-w-inverter-harness-and-bracket.99268/

You should be able to install an aftermarket power inverter. They can be mounted anywhere and use an extension cord custom cut to your preferred length to connect it. As I described I have done this hundreds of times in my 18 wheelers and hot shot trucks.
I’m planning to do this in my 18 next weekend lol it’ll be payday then [emoji4]

You should be able to install an aftermarket power inverter. They can be mounted anywhere and use an extension cord custom cut to your preferred length to connect it. As I described I have done this hundreds of times in my 18 wheelers and hot shot trucks.
