Radio bezel and AC vents

I have an 08 SLT and the previous owner installed a double din radio poorly and it doesn't have Bluetooth. He chopped out the bezel like a man with Parkinsons. I see they have double din bezels on ebay but they come without the vents installed. My vents are plastic welded. Has anyone removed the plastic welds and mounted their vents? If so how did you go about it? I found only one with vents and will have to modify that as well since I don't have 4 wheel drive. So, I would like to get a version without the vents but have no idea how to attach the vents afterward.

I got this off Amazon...it's what you're talking about right? I don't remember the vents on my '07 being welded, more like a pin in groove type fastener. Moving them didn't go terribly, but I did break some of the pins. Repaired the busted ones with a plastic epoxy though and they've held up for over a year now.
