Noticing the other day that my steering from 12oclock to 1 is dead then it randomly catches. If you go the opposite way there is no slack at all. Going down the highway you can wiggle the wheel from 12-1 maybe a little more without it doing anything. What do you think it is?

Tough to diagnose without looking at the vehicle and very odd that you only notice it in one direction? One thing I would check asap is the drag link. Make sure that adjustment nut hasn't worked loose. There is a recall on it if you haven't already had it done.

Do you notice any drifting or wandering of the vehicle?

Other then that see if you can crawl under the truck and have someone move the wheel back and forth slightly and see if you can see any slop in the tie rods, drag link, steering box or even a loose/worn track bar bushing.
