So I replaced my 2011 ram 1500 with a very nice 2004 Ram 3500 single rear wheel a few weeks ago. The truck is stock and the wheels are the steel clad junk. I'm looking at replacing them with new steel and trying to figure out the offset I need to get them out to the factory flares. Currently sitting on 265/70R17 and would like to fit 285's. I measured the tire bulge to the flare and it was 2.5 inches. I think the OEM offset is +43. What do you guys run on your HD rams?

Thanks!

No factory installed fender flares other than dually during the 3rd gen run, those are aftermarket. Correct on the wheel offset.
By the way....what is a "cummings"?

wtf is a cummings.jpg

Think I have it figured out, correct me if I'm wrong. Stock is 265/70R17 with +43 offset. Adding 285/70R17 and a -12 will push the tire out 2.6 inches. That would make the tire bulge flush with my flares. So the offset and extra tire width is 2.6 inches or 55mm. I hope this offset won't affect the towing/hauling abilities.
