Yes, this topic has been discussed many times. Mixed answers and mixed results. I'm hoping to get a definite answer as I have many plans for this truck.
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Express. I'm hoping to upgrade the interior to having a heated steering wheel, seats (ventilated as well if possible) and power lumber support.
I know some truck come pre-wired with stripped options found on higher end trucks. I'm trying to figure out if that's the case with me. I'm hoping someone else in a similar situation could reference this as well.
I checked for a blue wire under the top steering wheel column cover and found a blue plug. It's plugged into a dummy socket.
I've read on a thread that the blue plug means the vehicle is pre-wired for heated steering/seats. For it to function, a new clock spring, wiring harness and steering wheel with a heated element is needed for this to work. As well as the center console buttons and using ALFAOBD or having the dealer flash the codes in the BCM.
On a separate thread, some claim that you also need a driver seat module that supports heated seats and steering. If the module is not present, it will not function.
This thread is being created in hopes that someone could shed a bit of light on my situation, and hopefully to anyone else with a similar issue or wiring setup. Also, information on where the driver module would be plugged/changed if the vehicle is wired for heated seats and steering. If the new module is needed anyways.
As mentioned, my vehicle has the blue plug under the top steering wheel cover. Here is the wiring under my driver seat. I know that the yellow plug is used for airbags / seatbelt chimes, etc... (Unless I'm wrong)

If anyone has any insight on if my truck is pre-wired for heated steering/seats or lumbar support. What I'm missing to make this possible (Other than the parts mentioned above). It would be much appreciated.
If it does seem pre-wired, do I need the heated driver seat module and where would it plug?
(If I in need of another harness), how much would it cost and is it a fairly easy install?
Thanks for your time.
