Lay your hand on the intake. If you have a main going out you will feel it.

When Cadillac came out with the HT 4100 V-8 in the 1980's, they warped and threw main bearings out on a constant basis. All you had to do was listen, and put your hand firmly on the intake to feel every main bearing that was bad.

Yours doesn't sound that bad. Get some Lubegard Bio-Tech and try that..

I second the Biotech. Get 5w30 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and toss in 15 oz of of Biotech in with your oil change. Pair with a royal purple filter. Will cut your oil change cost down by half almost.

Take it from me I was a Chrysler Master Technician with 31 years , thats a normal Hemi sound. I had to walk a customer to a stock unit to show him its there even brand new. certain conditions make it more prominent but it is always there.

When I was a kid learning the trade I worked for a garage that serviced NYC Taxi Cabs. One of the cab drivers was complaining to my boss about a noise he heard. We went all over the cab and none of us could locate it. I must have been either 17 or 18. The owner was an Israeli who spoke in a heavy accent. He looked square at the cabbie and said, “PLAY THE RADIO LOUDER”. I laughed so hard and used that line a million times.

All I can really hear is the belt and pulleys. No "knock" or anything. Actually, sounds pretty quiet to me.

Dusty

While he’s wondering on sound I got one for you guys too.

Since I've heard these 'sounds' many times before, in both cases it sounds more like an exhaust leak.

Dusty

Thanks that’s what I was thinking I also replaced a clamp on exhaust that had rotted out was leaking exhaust at one point retightened it.

I use a cut off broom handle as a stethoscope
I place my fore finger & thumb as ear protection
my other 3 fingers cup the broom handle

I actually like it better than my mechanics stethoscope
