Ram or Dodge on title

I have noticed on all of the new Ram trucks purchased for the fleet last year, they are still titled and described as "2016 Dodge Ramcharger". Why is Dodge still on the title if Dodge stopped building trucks in 2010 and rolled out the Ram logo? And a Ramcharger hasn't been built in many years.

Is this a title from the MANUFACTURER, or a title from the Department of Motor Vehicles? If its the Motor Vehicles, they are likely simply confused.

Pretty believable from my experience.

Mine shows Dodge as well. So do half the parts websites and most of the people I talk to have no idea of the change.

Who fills out the title applications for your state? Usually its the dealer but it could also be the local town clerk. Most states use a database where the dealer/clerk enters the VIN and the model detail is found. But my 2016 RAM's VIN sequence was too new for their data base (or could not be found) and the clerk had to manually fill out the application and registration. They referred to the state DOT book and found the right kind of vehicle in my case, but perhaps your clerk found Ramcharger within the thousands of entries and assumed it was the RAM and typed out the title that way. They usually don't know one truck from another.

Are these 1500s or 2500-3500s as the bigger trucks have a tendency to be have a higher registration fees than a Ramcharger, the company may have got a good deal you should not bring up

Mine doesn't say that. Just says RAM 1500.

It depends on your state's DMV computer system. Some have changed to Ram for the newer trucks, some haven't.

bought my 2500 from a dealer in st paul. live in colorado. because it was an out of state vehicle, i needed a " VIN inspection " . the guy wrote dodge on the vin inspection, and colorado rejected my title application. 2 trips to state patrol for inspection, 2 trips to dmv for one word....

another reason why i love the government.
