Can you switch a 2001 5.9 sport model front bumper and grille to a non sport front end. Are the mounts the same behind the sport model as non sport? Thank you.

I pulled up the 2nd gen section and it says “You have insufficient privileges to post threads here.”

I just joined up yesterday.

I think you should be able to do that without too much trouble. Having owned a 2nd gen truck, I found them much easier to work on, and change parts around . I really like the looks of the honeycomb grill on the 2nd generation trucks.

Yes, it should bolt right up depending on the year. On my 94 the mounting holes on the frame weren't there, but it was easy enough to mark the holes and drill them out. You will need the entire bumper assembly (the metal frame, bumper cover, all brackets, etc.) and for the grille you will need the grille frame and the hood release rod as well as the grille shell.

I just swapped a laramie slt bumper with a sport bumper, reverse of what you are trying to do, and it lined right up.
