I just got out of a 2019 F150 Platinum. Had Fords best warranty, also a CPO warranty. Dies going down the road and then resets and starts. 2 Dealers and a Ford rep. no help. Just took delivery on my 2021 Ram Limited. So it happens to anyone. The Ford is nice but if you are 300 pounds the seats go flat on the demo ride. I have the hemi but really wished I had the 3.6 as I drive over 1k a week on average.

To etbrown4, next up, I do live in Texas. I live NW of Ft. Worth and go to Sherman, Lubbock, San Angelo and Claude. You are right, they don't get in a hurry.

This guy should ask for a HEAT case where they will pull the part off the assembly line.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm a first-time RAM (2021 Rebel) owner and honestly I'm pretty disappointed with my first 1,500 miles. I've had problem after problem with my truck and not one has been fixed yet. Thankfully I have a wonderful dealer doing their best to help me. If could get some of this stuff fixed, it would be the best truck I've ever owned...

Due to the problems I keep having, I've been definitely looking at an extended max-care warranty. How have other's experiences been? Would you (all) recommend the warranty?
We certainly regret hearing about the poor experience with your new vehicle ownership so far, @Raydulce. Our team would be happy to discuss these concerns further via private messages. For future dealer services, please know that our team is just a private message away and more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for further support if needed.

I am glad to see you there. I had 2 Eco Diesels in Texas in 2016 and both had engine issues. I wished you had been there then. I hope you can help this person who has been thru the ringer.

I remember some model year fords many years ago would have weak thin seats and they offered poor support.I dont know who makes the seats now but the lowbidder back then was Johnson Controls

December 12th my truck tried to kill me,

This is a 2017 ram 2500 with a 6.4 hemi and lifetime maximum care warranty with 68k miles on it.

Driving down a 2 lane slick highway in Cooper landing Alaska. I was cruising 45 mph through a corner in a 55mph zone, felt a little bump and noticed my truck had died. Since I had no power steering/brakes at this point I rolled the truck into nuetral and pushed the start button. Next thing I know the entire cab is filled with electrical smoke and the headlights turn off in the dark. I stab the brakes with both feet and somehow managed to get the truck and trailer stopped while still on the road. Difficult, since I couldn't see the road and nothing electrical in the truck would work, like the windows to let the electrical smoke out.

This happens in an area that has no service 80 miles from home/dealer. Hitch hike to a place with signal 20° outside and call for help.

Get the truck and trailer home with various tow services. Dealer calls and said that the transmission has sized and the starter likely burned up because it couldn't turn the motor. They would put in the warranty request and let me know.

Yesterday my dealer calls and says that a transmission is backordered untill March 1st and they denied the starter repair. I have been 6 week's without a vehicle to drive and have spent 10-15 hours on the phone over the past 5 1/2 weeks trying to get fca, ram, or the warranty to help in some way.

This has been the worst customer experience event I have ever had in my life. My paper weight of a truck is going to spend over a quarter of 2021 on the shop due to ram not having parts to fix it.

@RamCares should be called @ramdoesntcareaboutitscustomers

Contact the Alaska State Attorney General's office to assist. And make a lot of noise so they are forced to remedy the situation. Rental would be nice, too!

As a community of consumers
it might be to our advantage if there was a thread regarding recalls, sub categorized
by year and or model an members encouraged to post images of documentation received from FCA
regarding part numbers and procedures.
The problem is most of what happens is phone conversations.Dealer mostly writes"Replace alternator and writes "warranty" on the invoice. Then months later you get a letter about your recall being completed and closed. My dealer wouldnt woul contact FCA on my behalf as they said that FCA would probably pay more attention to me than their own dealership. It's like the dealer is in cohoots with the ripoff carmaker. They dont even like to deal with FCA.

FCA is a joke. I called them about infotainment issues in my truck. They entered a case and I have yet to hear a single word back from them.
Feel free to send us a private message, @johnspd. We would be more than willing to look into your case and request a follow up on your behalf.

Funny, I was not given full fine print until I purchased my contract. I even asked for it ahead of time and all I was given was the same cardboard thing you can read at the dealer. I knew what I was getting into because I found it here or other places on the net, but the sellers themselves (which are Mopar dealers) werent 100% forthcoming with everything...not sure why.
I had no problem getting an electronic copy of the EW from these guys:
https://chryslerwarrantydirect.com/

The paper copy I got in the mail after purchasing the EW agreed with the electronic version exactly.

Wow - so sorry about this issue with your Ram. I had a transmission failure of sorts with only 14,000 miles on my 2019 Ram 1500 (trailer-tow package) but I was just driving down a back-road on the way to a remote scenic waterfall in Michigan's Upper Peninsula - without the trailer at the time. This was last August. Long story short, dash display indicated some sort of transmission control failure, and to NOT turn truck off until I reached a destination. I got back to the campground, called FCA and they did everything almost perfectly - other than getting me a loaner vehicle. (There simply weren't any available due to the pandemic.) They towed it to a local Ram dealership, my neighbor drove to the UP and pulled my trailer home to the lower peninsula and FCA reimbursed him for all fuel expenses. (That might be due to the fact I told FCA it was shameful a Chevy had to pull my trailer home...) They not only repaired the truck, but had it hauled back to the Grand Rapids area rather than me having to drive 8 hours to where it was to retrieve it and drive it back. The kicker is some sort of harness either wasn't connected tightly or got knocked off (i have the off-road skid plate package on the 4x4) which caused the problem. After replacing that, the transmission was fine. All covered under the bumper-to-bumper initial warranty I guess. I certainly can't complain. I know bad news travels faster than good news and I'm sure others have had positive FCA warranty experiences, but I feel badly for you and others who don't. You'd think there would be some consistency in how they treat their customers.

I would like to hear from ramcares more about any of the issues discussed here on the forums.
Not just the common"please send me a private message"crap..
most of the time this ramcares seems to really just chime in here and there and spot pick to even show up.
Not saying he/she has to go into specifics about someone's problem but Jesus he/she could definitely shed some light about the workings of say whats covered and whats not about either day 1 warranty or the max care thing.
I have no need for a warranty but I could in the future who knows...love the new trucks and all they have to offer in the different trims and packages but if a tranny goes out and you get the run around from he said she said I'd rather jump ship to a ford...dont know if their even better on their side of things but i/we do know from the writings here **** aint worth the hassle.
What say you ramcares?

TBH I think RAMCares is just a social media side of dealing with customers. They are helpful in the sense that they can get you hooked up with an actual FCA case manager, then the case manager does the work (or in most of my experiences, sets up dealer appointments then just regurgitates what the dealer tells you during the appointment).

I dont think they really know results of any of the cases that they help start....its just not their job. I think RAMCares does their job correctly and well, the fault lies in the case manager(s). Im sure there are some good case managers out there, but I have yet to experience them.

Hello @Hardracer, we would be happy to shed some light on how we are able to assist you here. In order to determine resolutions to vehicle concerns, an in-person diagnosis must take place in order to exhaust all possible root causes of the vehicle symptom. The dealers are ultimately our eyes and ears in the field, and we rely on their official diagnosis in order to assist and determine if something is going to be covered under the applicable warranty.
What we are able to do from this level is escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for an additional layer of support as you work with your dealer. As your advocate, our case specialists will ensure that your questions are fully addressed and resolved.
Please feel free to send us a private message if you have any further questions! Thank you,

Kathryn

Finally decided to take my wife's truck in since we bought the maxcare lifetime warranty. Learned that it is pretty much useless if the service center is incompetent. Brought it in for the third brake light leak, an odd sound coming from the engine bay, and a faulty rear window switch. After they had the truck all day we get called before closing and told they could not confirm the leak despite obvious staining on the headliner. Said they did a "visual" inspection and would need us to bring it back for water testing... They blamed the noise on aftermarket tires but said the warranty would cover the switch for the deductible. $20 part for $109 under warranty. No thanks.

After answering multipal questions waiting days between responces and then getting a timeline on my visit to the dealer I GAVE UP.
It seems to be a standard procedure anymore for companys to dodge (no pun intended) their warranty obligation.

My experience with Ram Customer service and My Dealer:
About 1,500 miles on the odo. After driving in west TX (speed limit 80) I see that the front airdam is hanging off on the left side. I notice two tabs are broke and removed the airdam. At the end of a trip my dealer has ME call Ram to discuss because the dealer doesn't think it's covered by warranty. Dealer thinks I hit something. I don't recall hitting anything. Ram agreed to reimburse me for the part, about $450. Total cost to me was $100 for labor.

Absolutely a nightmare for sure. (insert levity here) Are you sure your truck is fully vaccinated and you didn't try to use the rest room without purchasing something from Coopers Landing? Srry. Hope It All Works Out.

Hi there. I'm curious how your situation ended up. I'm in a similar boat now; truck has been in the shop now for 3 months and needs a new engine and MoPar isn't doing squat despite dealer's best attempts.
