No test impacts on deer but it's a heavy unit. :) I wouldn't mind if it had a horizontal piece just above the license plate area for possibly mounting lights someday. I like how the center section protects the grille; isn't open like some basic models. When first shopping, I thought the outside tubes might look too big but I prefer them to smaller tubes now. The shop recommended the Westin due to previous experiences with multiple brands. It was about $100 cheaper than others at the time; about 1 year ago.
You can still use tow hooks; shop installed both at same time and reversed hooks so the hook opening wasn't obstructed but I don't think it was required to do that. If I was doing it again, I would see if the Rebel loop style hooks would work.
I'm happy with it and would get it again.

Now I am assuming that the grill guards interfere with the front sensors, correct? That is the only thing stopping me from buying one myself.

I don't have front sensors but the Westin site has a sensor relocator kit as one of the accessories available for grille guards

I'm guessing so... tossing around the notion of getting the full bumper/grill guard combo to keep the sensors working correctly.

Mine is by GO INDUSTRIES in Texas and they call it a Rancher. Don't know if it's the same one you're looking for. Here's a few pics. About $900. with the Armor coating. 3 yr warranty.
Had the same bar on my '09 Ram 1500 only it was powder coated gloss black. After 2 years of commuting 90 miles a day, it looked like it was sand blasted and rust was all over it. This armor coat is well worth the $$. It's hard but rubbery and holding up great.

I have the Ranch Hand on my F350 and my Ram 1500 Big Horn. Wouldn't be without. I am not experiencing any "premature front end wear", never heard of that before. And it only weighs 125 lbs, not 500.

Looks good. Is that strong enough to withstand hitting a deer ? Thanks

Did you see post #33?
I've seen them take deer with no damage to the vehicle. That said, if one was going 70mph and took one head on it might be a different story

Yep. I have my front sensors turned off.
Answer - I installed a front camera

How do you like the camera compared to the parking sensors and did you have it connected to your 8.4 display?

And yet, it would still be better than not having anything between you and the deer!
