My best friend in high school had a '65 Sprint, 289 4-spd. (not a Hi-Po as you already know) Not much on the top end, but was a lot of fun red light to red light. Had some great times in that car.

Thanks for the memory!

A high school teacher owned it if i remember right.
One of the older guys in high school had one when i was a kid still in junior high.
Found the article on the car.

Beautiful 1965 Falcon Futura, one of only seven HIPO 289 equipped Falcons ever built. All seven were Canadian Falcons.

I always liked the early falcons. It’s always a tough call for me. 65 Nova or 65 Falcon Futura.

If it was one of the 7 Canuck Hi-po Falcon's,wouldn't be any question in my mind,Falcon all the way,lol

Wonder what one of the cars would bring in the bigger US auction houses like Mecumn ;)

This one is apparently in California now.

Despite shared mechanicals, Ford refused to drop the K-code 289 into Falcons—doubtless so it could keep pumping out pony cars by the gross. But Ford of Canada, whose assembly line pumped out Falcons rather than Mustangs, announced that the K-code engine was available in all Falcon models, except station wagons, sold in Canada for the 1965 model year. Per a letter sent to the NHRA’s National Dragster by Ford Motor Company of Canada, all were equipped with the Toploader four-speed, heavy-duty suspension, 10-inch drum brakes, and Traction-Lok, which was unavailable even on ’65 Mustang K-codes. All would be special orders, and indeed research indicates that a total of seven were built through the end of July, 1965. Seven. This is one of the seven."

The upper brass at Chevy doing their best to screw over the other divisions of GM.

1967 - 1969 Oldsmobile’s experimental program spawned the “Killer” project W-43 a four-valve head design atop a 455-cubic-inch foundation that showed significant promise, but never went into full production. GM upper brass shut it down.

Love both, but if i had to pick 1,it'd be the T/A,for 1 they had a way nicer interior, and i also think they were the better looking of the 2.I do have a soft spot for the LT1 that was in the 70 1/2 Z's though,as it was a screaming little power house

The Second Gen Camaro I don’t feel like the Challenger/Cuda got a fair shot at the muscle car era. As usual GM left it with the 396. Not a shab, but like 427 and 454 it went elsewhere and you either had to buy one from a performance dealership. Or Swap it yourself. I did really like the early TA cars. I liked the 77-78 TA’s, but the 70s had some interesting cars for sure.
