This morning I noticed a weird thing. 2019 Classic 1500 SLT. I hear a horn, look out the window and see my truck chirp (lights flash, horn chirps). It's like the lock/unlock chirp when using the fob - only fob is not being used. It stops, then a few mins later I'm outside with the dog and it does it again. I pull my fob out of my pocket and watch the truck chirp a few more times. No one else is using a fob for my truck. Anyone know what the cause of this is?

Were you even slightly touching one of the buttons?

In the remote under the rubber key is a convexed little disk. This is what actually activates the function on the circuit board when you press. They wear out or "flatten out" over time.

Replacements can be found on Amazon. Buy the whole key fob and swap out the parts. Then you don't have to reprogram and you still have the OEM key. I rebuilt my sons key doing this. No issues any more.

Have the battery checked. Low voltage has been known to cause all sorts of strange electrical malfunctions in modern vehicles. Also check for loose or dirty battery connections.

As was mentioned
order a FOB online or walk into a key shop
do not have them program anything

open both FOBs up, new & old

Remove the green circuit board from your old FOB, clean every contact point using a Q Tip & alcohol.

Now put the old green Circuit Board in the brand new FOB case.

That should hopefully solve your honking problem
