Ready for a laugh?

So I noticed 10-12 drops of oil on my driveway. I looked underneath my 2016 Ram 1500 Sport and noticed the front of the transfer case was covered in oil. This was in the area of the front seal. I thought my seal was leaking so I decided to book an appointment to get it repaired (I am getting too old/lazy to crawl underneath and fix things). I get a call from the shop who advised that upon inspection they noted the oil on the transfer case but found a piece of meat sitting on top of the transfer case. The meat was very burnt and the mechanic felt that an animal may have put the meat up there and the heat from the engine/transfer case cooked the meat to the point that the fat melted and that was what I was seeing on the driveway. The guys in the shop had a good laugh over it.

That’s a shop to keep. They could have charged you for transfer case seal and you wouldn’t have known the difference. Good on them for being truthful about it.

reminds me of my neighbor running recycled vegetable oil from restaurants in his Mercedes Diesel……. always smelled like French Fries.

Ran over what was once an elk, it was already pretty flattened, wet mess. Was on I 40 in AZ, semis in the right lane, was unavoidable.
There was Elk pate all under the chassis an in the rubbing boards, as if it was sprayed on. Washed it at home. My two hounds hung out underneath for about a week!

Back in the day (so I hear) you could buy a Model A Ford cookbook with recipes to cook stuff on your engine. It told you how to prepare the food, how to wrap it, where to place it on the engine and how long to drive till it was done. Came in handy on trips.

Years ago.....in another truck....we hit a skunk......couldn't get the smell out from underneith for a month.....terrible.

I swear this is true: On the way to Puerto Penasco Mexico from Arizona, towing a 25' cabin cruiser, we would wrap burritos and tamales in 3 layers of HD foil place on the manifold of a 454 chevy crewcab dually, for half hour or so, taking turns driving and drinking Pacifico all night, so we could deep sea fish in the morning. Dont ask me about the "stump tacos"

As far back as in the 1970s, i worked on a road repair crew
we were always out in the boonies & you can only eat so much canned tuna & PB&J
So the guys wrapped burritos in aluminum foil & set them on the intake manifold. If we were using hot asphalt, we wrapped canned stew in tin foil & buried it in the hot asphalt.

The Equipment Shop Superintendent, was not happy when a truck went into the shop & what was left of a burrito was still burnt onto the manifold
