My rear differential went out in my 06 1500 trx4
Everything inside was destroyed so I'm looking at buying a used axle
My question is how do I know which brake mount I need or if it matters
My options are
round with flat top and bottom brake mounting flange, 3.92 ratio
Or
square brake mounting flange, 3.92 ratio
Any thoughts would be helpful not sure what to look for

Any help for this exact issue? My truck is an 06 with the Round Brake mounting Flange . The diffs I found both have square Brake mounting flanges. They are complete Rotor to Rotor with calipers and all.

whatever you get I would still open it up and replace the bearings. The 9.25 rears eat pinion bearings and it’s easier to work on out of the truck!

3BCA8F9C-167C-4EA8-AB08-FC6FE921FE2C.jpeg You have to go and stick your nose up under your rear axle and look at it. At the end of the axle where the brake hardware mounts there are two different shapes square and round with flat. Its fairly obvious once you know what you’re looking for. I’m attaching a picture of an axle with the round with flat top style mount. The important bit is in the red circle. Note the sides curve and the top is flat. The square one is square there.

Hope that helps.
