Yes, I do have parking sensors.

Well, I could be wrong, but if you have the park sensors you probably have Park Sense.

Check the parking brake shoes. They have delaminated themselves and floating around in the rotor/drum.
Had it happen to me on a 2012.

This is exactly what the problem was. Replaced the parking brake shoes and problem solved. Thank you!
Now onto my next/related issue. Apparently my parking brake cable/s are stretched and need to be replaced, because when the parking brake pedal is pushed all the way down, the parking brake offers little resistance.

That parking brake cable is adjustable
Just hope that you have enough usable threads to take up the slack.

Maybe watch a YouTube video, before you adjust them
