Hello, and thanks much for letting me join.
I have a question. Will the rear axle assembly from a 98 1500 Gen II bolt into my 1989 LE 150. 318/518; 3:23 10 bolt's in it now. My buddy's scrapping his 98 and without driving 80 miles to check, I thought I might ask. Seems to be a worthwhile upgrade and still remains pure Mopar.

I believe the spring perches are the same size but the track width on the gen 2 might be about 2-3 inches wider. also, not sure about the following stuff but check and see if the rear brakes are drum vs disc and see what the U joint size is for the rear shaft/pinion connection. minor stuff but would mean it might not just 'bolt in' without a little tinkering.

I thank you and agree completely. I have been in love with everything MoPar since my first car, a '52 Coronet that had 3,604.8 miles on it when I bought it in 1969.
I have always done my own work. I'm trained, but haven't worked professionally for the last 20 years so sometimes I ask rather than run my ancient tail off taking measurements.
I'll be sure to let you know how this works out. The brakes are 11" drs the same as is on my 89. Don't think they're original, but they work just fine.

Unfortunately, the spring perches on the gen 2's are 2" too wide. Overall track would not be a problem. Pretty close to bolt in.
