I currently have the rear lifted 2" with MotoFab Spacers. Looking to lift it to about 3 1/2". I have Bilstein 5100s PN 24-187374 on the rear. Could I add 1 1/2" lift coils like the Icons, then use the 2" spacer I have to get about 3 1/2" total rear lift? What else am I looking at needing to replace, I assume track bar (or at least drop bracket), and sway bar end links. Shocks or at least add shock extenders? How much lift is needed before the rear control arms should be replaced?

I have the same question. Although I already did the lift 6 months ago.. I put in 1.5" Icon Lifted Dual stage springs, and then added 1.5" spacer. I have not had any problems although I do notice the truck sits about an inch lower on the left side. Today I put Rough Country Brake line extenders, bump stops, and sway bar links on.. will see if this corrects the lean. It seems to have. If not, I' will be considering adding the track bar bracket dropper that comes with RC's 6" Lift kit (4" on the rear) $70 from RC. Not sure if I should be doing the Upper Control arm brackets also, but they are another $175, so hoping to avoid them.

Your pinion angle will tell you. But anything over 4" will throw your pinion angle out. As well as your panhard bar will be out of center.

I know with my Jeep Gladiator 6.5" lift springs my pinion angle was out quite a lot.

Clayton adjustable Jeep Gladiator 4 link and panhard bar. made that easy to adjust.

I dont run sway bars since they are lame. :anitoof: so cant comment on that nonsense... lol...

Resurrecting this thread for related question:
I've got a 2" lift in the rear with Bilstein 5100 shocks, Icon 1.5" coils, and 1/2" McBay spacers. Bought a Carli track bar drop bracket to bring that back down closer to level, but was wondering about needing shock extenders? The Bilsteins say they're good for just 0-1" lift. Are there any quality/reputable 1"-2" shock extenders out there? I can only find questionable ebay parts or ones for 6" lift, which is obviously overkill. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't get shock extensions. The shocks are what keep the coils from over extending and popping out at full droop. Plus, if you go longer, at full droop all the axle weight will be hanging on the brake lines and abs wires, possibly stretching them to failure.

Unless you wheel your truck I wouldn’t worry about it, you’ll just have about an inch less down travel. Most people’s trucks never see full droop other then on jacks

Brake lines are plenty long enough for a lot of lift. But yes if shocks are too long the coils will fall out

Save your money and do it in 5 years when you have a job and can do it correctly. At that age I got myself into a plenty of trouble with a stock 1500 sierra with maybe 200hp, my classmate who lifted his ended up rolling it in a ditch when he had to swerve and with his lift (it was really tall) it just went over.

I imagine at 15 your not driving yet, if this will be a project , not needed for getting to school/work just take your time & do lots of research.
I think our trucks look great leveled or lifted but it is important to do it properly. I would use struts to level versus spacers & bigger tires can/ will cause more wear on wheel bearings, brakes & get will lower gas mileage.
Look for people upgrading their trucks selling used parts & wheels/tires, if you are doing the work yourself it could be done on a budget.
Take your time & do all the research you can, double check everything before buying parts to be sure they work for your truck.
Lots of help on this forum, use the search & you’ll find tons of info on most upgrades, good & bad, that will hopefully save expensive mistakes & there is a bunch of knowledgeable members here that have helped me in the past with solid advice.
If buying new be sure to check with the forum vendors first.
Good luck with your truck, be sure to post some pic’s, I’ll be following.
