Rear middle Seat: No Headrest?

I've been looking at a few 5th gens and toying with the idea of replacing my '12. I'd like to have seating for 6 but what's the deal with no headrest for the rear middle seat. Is there a configuration that I'm missing or something? I don't hate my kids enough to put them in that seat with no headrest.

Hmmm, seems like a step backwards to me. My '19 Classic Express QC has one.

My 2017 does not have one. I think it's a visibility issue for the driver using the rear view mirror.

The rear window is flanked by two headrests. They are pretty tall as you can see in this pic:

It should be the same as mine. Doesn’t it pull up out of the seat back? Nice truck btw!

My CC has no headrest whatsover on the middle seat.

Dang, that's strange!.....

It may seem like a small detail to a lot of people, but I use all three back seats nonstop. It looks like the floor is flat now in the back of the cc and with the 4 extra inches of legroom it would be sweet for a daily driver. I won't get a new one until that is fixed though. not worth the risk to my kids head if you get into even a minor fender bender.

Mine has three headrests in the backseat. The middle one is much smaller than the outboard ones.

My '17 quad cab has headrest for the middle seat. Tiny little funky looking thing, but it is there.

The Katzkin leather kit I ordered came with a replacement cover for said headrest, so they think it should be there too!

The one's that I saw were stitched into the seat and didn't look very functional
