rear sliding window stuck open

my 2009 ram SLT...Hemi
rear sliding window stuck open...
4 months ago the window would open but not close, lubricated the cable and track and it worked but not the greatest. now winter here (so it has nothing to do with the temp) as it is only -20 *c and now stuck open about 3 inches. I have pushed the button many times and in different ways, still stuck open. tried pushing it closed with someone else pushing the button.still stuck open. There was sound pushing the button to open, but not to close now.

i want to know if there is a trouble shooting meathod in finding out if it is the button or the windows motor or the fuse or my battery.?
I do not want to take my back seat out, far too much work for this old gal to do.
I have been reading all posts about the rear sliding window, to no successful find of a trouble shoot practise.
