REAR TAIL LIGHTS NOT WORKING

I HAVE A 2020 RAM 1500, THE BOTH LH & RH TAIL LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. CHECK ALL THE FUSES. ALL GOOD. BULBS GOOD... TOOK THE BULBS OUT. THE SOCKET WAS ALL CORRODED. SPRAYED WITH OIL. ALL GOOD NOW.. WHY ARE THEY GETTING CORRODED IN A SEALED TAIL LIGHT?

I am no help but a wild guess is the O ring still on the light socket ?
Were they tight ?
If you do find out why please Update!

I have an '05 & an '06 that both had issues with taillights blowing bulbs consistently.

Would find moisture inside them on an almost daily basis.

We wound up replacing all four assemblies with OEM. It wasn't cheap, but it fixed the problem.

I had similar problem in my 2003 2509, I ordered replacement sockets and installed them on both sides. Think I ordered on Amazon or eBay, but can't remember.

I own a 2022 Ram 1500 Bighorn. Both tail lights are out. Checked fuse and replaced bulbs - no change. Front park lights are fine. No indication of a problem on the dashboard which I find alarming since the rear of my vehicle is totally blacked out at night with only the license plate light illuminating. Years ago, when you lost tail lights at least your dash board lights went out also to indicate something was wrong. I only found out at night when a county sheriff pulled me over. Any solutions before it goes in to the dealer for troubleshooting?

Tail Lights have always been a mystery to me !!

Some times, there are only 2 bulbs with 2 filaments in each one
each bulb & harness has to do
tail light
brake light
turn signal
flasher
with the license plate light(s) tossed in

Then you have 3 bulbs per tail light, which added back up lights

The harness on the drivers side, added lights for the camper shell ..
interior light & 3rd brake light, & camera(s)
Bed Lights & power receptacle

No wonder they completely seal the tail lights up now

Plus Stellantis does not want anyone but their Dealerships to work on products they make, GREEDY MFers

they deleted all the do it yourself publications that Chrysler & FCA had put online for us to work on our own vehicles
