I have a new 2021 RCSB Classic, I've always wanted a 2wd RCSB since high school (that was back in 1976)
I'm going to lower it 2"\ 4" and am looking at new wheels and tires, I'm thinking about staggering the front and back and would like to run as wide a tire & wheel in the back as possible without rubbing and I don't want them to stick out any more than the stock tires & wheels.
I'll probably go with 285/50/20s on a 9" wheel for the front
Any suggestions for the rear?
TIA!

Your front & rear wheels are already 9” wide I believe, if you’ve got factory 20’s.
285/50 with 2” front drop will still leave a gap.
My truck was 2/4” drop on 275/55r20’s and I hated the gap, but that’s just me. The tires will look tiny for sure.
285 is gonna poke out more than stock especially if you stagger them.
All just opinion from another lowered RCSB owner.

The 10 mm wider tires will be negligible in terms of poking out. That’s 5mm more overhang on the inside and 5mm on the outside. If the wheel offset is the same they will only stick out 5mm more than stock.
More importantly is the offset of the wheel he chooses. Lower offset will stick out further and higher offset will tuck them in.

Good info. Tire brand makes a diff too, not all tires are the same size despite same on paper specs.

The stock wheels are actually 20 x 8" with a +19mm offset

Is that the truck you bought? If so you are in my neck of the woods. That dealership is who we buy and use. Great Dealership.

Mine has sport 20’s they’re 9” wide.
The chrome clads are 9” wide also.
Wasn’t sure if the photo posted was your actual truck.

Yes, I bought that truck but I'm up in WV, I flew down to Dallas to drive it home, there are very few 2wd trucks up here.

Thats awesome! That is the only dealership we will use. Customer service, Service, and Sales are always a great experience.

Yes, that is the actual truck I bought, the sticker say 20x8 but it looks like I could be either 8 or 9

https://www.wheel-size.com/size/ram/1500/2018/

Small world, I live 12 miles from that dealership and tried to negotiate on THAT truck! Sadly I was looking to negotiate a deal remote and they 100% refused to negotiate without me physically there (since I live so close).

But you’re right, there are so few RCSBs on dealer lots with that configuration so I get it.

I did buy a 2004 RCSB from them back in 2008 and had no issues, drove that truck until 156k miles.

Congrats on a great looking truck!

I have an RT and stuck with 22" wheels. Black Rhino SPEAR and I went with 22x9.5 ET20 with Nitto NT420V in 305/45R20 as I don't like too thin of a side wall... Not a staggered setup so I can rotate the tires. There is an slight poke from the wheel well … The truck is still at stock height in the photo below, but I will be completing a 3/5 drop and everything should clear without an issue.... time will tell.
