As you can see from the photos, there is moderate rust above and around both rear wheel wells. It's at the bubbling paint stage, but at some spots it's now slightly past that stage unfortunately. My question is, what should I expect to pay a body shop to fix up both sides? The rest of the box is in fairly good shape, minus some spots where an old bed liner from previous owner 5 years ago rubbed against the paint revealing the yellowish primer layer. But as for rust, it seems to be limited to just both wheel wells. I can't afford a full paint job right now otherwise I'd do that, but I do want to take care of the rust here for now.

Also....
A while ago, I had to cut the wheel well openings in my front fenders to accommodate 33" tires. I increased the size of the opening by about 1 1/4 inches, but it was a hack job because it was urgent. When I'm ready to buy new fenders, how much should I expect to pay a body shop to professionally cut the opening bigger, and also make a new inner fender that fits it?

Thanks everyone!

I'm not sure about where you live, but Alabama that's $500-$800. That's if you want them to do only those spots. It will also depend on how far up the metal is weakened from the rust. You could probably do most of it yourself, and take her to get her sprayed over to blend the paint.

As for the fenders I'd even it up and put trim on it or wheel well cover!

Okay, I live in eastern canada and I'd be on cloud 9 if I could get the rust on both sides fixed for $500-$800, but I think it will be closer to $1000-$1500. I'm going to a body shop today to get an estimate, ill post back soon. As for the front fenders, where can I buy new fenders that do NOT have the small holes in them for mounting the "RAM" emblem? Are they available or is that another customization ill have to do?

www.rockauto.com they have every part your would need! They even have the section on the bed/wheel well on there. Al the body shop would do is cut out the bad area, and weld the new section in. The prices are amazing. Plus shipping is fast! I buy 99% of my stuff from rock auto! That's crazy it might cost you that much! My buddy had the same issue with an old for. Both rear wheel wells were rusted completely through! They fixed them both, and sprayed the bed to blend the paint for $1200!

There is a lot more involved than you think. They're going to have to cut out all the old rust and believe me it goes up a lot further than you think.
