the distance is nice but it really hurts when you need to fill up so i try to fill from half as much as i can

i do a lot go highway driving for work... have not had my new truck on the highway yet so idk what it gets for highway mileage or per tank. my old truck had a 26 gallon tank and could go 300 miles or so... I'm hoping i can get closer to 400 with my new one.

A lack of power. If you use a lower octane than is recommended the engine will retard timing. There is a reason they recommend 89. Some people may not notice, but it is there.

is there much difference between 88 and 89.. i can find 88 a lot easier? should i be adding an octane booster or something? i want the best for my Hemi even if its not noticeable..

I've run 87 with my 89 tune and didnt notice much of a difference.

I just stick with 89 unless I run the 93 tune.

Here in Arkansas we have 87, 89, and 93. I have before filled up with all three to see if I was able to see any difference. When I ran 87 octane I noticed a little bit of sluggish performance and poorer fuel economy. When I ran 93 octane I couldn't hardly tell any difference besides what it cost to fill my 32 gallon tank. So I decided they recommended 89 for a reason (obviously), and I believe it's the best octane for my Ram, which is 100% stock. Now when Tuesday comes and the box from moes performance arrives that'll be a different story (overly excited).

I do a lot of highway driving as well, and have the 26gal tank, hemi, and 3.55 gears with the 6sp tranny. I get close to 500 miles per tank, which is about 75 more than I could get with my '04 hemi. So I'm getting basically 3mpg better than I ever did with my old hemi. You should be happy with your mileage if you're used to only getting 300 or so miles per tank.

That's pretty good. I barley get 300 a tank, but I'm all city driving.
