I've came to the conclusion that my truck needs some new tail lights. The nipple style just isn't my thing. Wanting to get some smoked out led lights. But I also need to be able to see with reverse lights cause of that damn tint.

Truck is a 2008 1500, Flame red. (Sorry no pics, I'm in class.) Help me decide!

I would say go with the recons. They're more expensive. But the others are cheap looking and just don't look as good as the recons. At least in my opinion.

I don't have any pics of the rear end of my truck anymore, but I ordered "eBay brand" taillights, and love them! My friends complain that I blind them from them being so bright, and they actually look pretty good!

I believe it's Spyder you're referring to. I always see them side by side with recon.

And they do make a tail light that looks like the recon with a little less smoked lens and about $100 cheaper.

Not sure if price actually relates to quality here
I had a set of smoked LED tails and will never run a set again
One of them the brake light dimmed out so there was hardly a difference between the brake and running light
The others mounting tabs broke off and the light fell out as my girlfriend was driving down the road

On things like this I would believe price relates to quality. And I've heard nothing bad Bout recon.

its called sonar, i have both sets and have torn both sets down, and they are the exact same other than the logo stamped on the back of the lights, fitment of both is not that great, i personally would suggest the anzo tail lights for LED tails.

the anzo ones are brighter and have a reverse light that is usable, the recon style ones have a TERRIBLE reverse light...

and anzo tails in "smoked clear"

these are the recon black smoked ones, look good, fitment is sub par and the reverse lights suck!

any LED tail light questions you got, let me know, ive owned just about every set there is lol!

Would it make a noticeable difference if I swapped the stock reverse bulb for the Recon led bulb?

all the tails run around $150 +/- recon is just overpriced, the circut boards are the same as the cheaper counterparts, not sure how they get away with it but they do...

if you get a LED bulb like Retro Shop sales then yes it would help, i spent $60 on 2 LED bulbs to make my recon tails even have a semi usable output...

here are mine they are smoked but the reverse light was left untinted

its all a matter of what you wana pay, recon style from my experiece does not have as great of a difference in brightness from parking light to brake light as all the other LED tails on the market do, so in my opinion they are the last ones to go after when it comes to output

these may not be your style, but they have perfect fitment and they are BRIGHT, the reverse light on these has to be one of the best on an aftermarket ive seen

That was the plan. Lol hopefully. I found a pair of recons for $315. And the Spyder ones are $260 for the first I found.

I would if it wasn't chrome, trying to get one smoked so it looks black.
