2014 1500...OK having problems with my tails...bought a pair of the Recon LED smoked to replace the factory LED tails. short story long :D

..put can bus (I think) LED bulbs in the reverse lights (recon doesnt come with them)
..after a few months started getting turn, reverse, brake light out etc across EVIC with no lights out.
..today unlocked my truck and as tails flashed noticed drivers side got very dim after initial flash and flickered. pass side stayed bright no flicker.
..both brakelights work with no flickering
..headlights on, drivers side tail is dim and flickering until you hit brakes then no problem.

I just plugged them up to existing OEM harness.

Anyone got any ideas/suggestions before I start removing and replacing?

Also I know about having to have the resistors on the bulbs, are they inside the light housing itself or somewhere down the wiring harness?

sometimes what happens is that due to vibration and dirt the connector gets loose or dirt finds its way into the connector.

so if you haven't already done this, remove the taillights and disconnect cables - clean up the connectors first with air and then contact cleaner if available.

once that's done reconnect everything and ensure they are plugged in properly, if that doesn't fix it it up then you probably have a defective set.

Boy you nailed this one right on the head Tyrant....took them apart and air sprayed them out..didnt have contact cleaner but I did use Qtip and IP alcohol and swabbed what I could. I then worked both plugs about 5 or 6 times to semi sand any oxidation off the contacts and voila! not even a flicker. Thanks for the advice!!! course my luck they will fail completely tomorrow hehe.
