I've never touched redline or lubegaard but I consistently have been using pup5w30. She's seen 12 oil changes in het life and it's all documented. It's been PUP the last 10 changee and pennzoil platinum once followed by qsud. We'll see how it goes.
The additive packages between PUP, Platinum and QSUD aren't much different, but PUP has a more stable base oil. That makes it a better oil, all 3 are good oils.

How many threads do you need on this subject ,you already have one going.

Yes, but there really was no one over 100K running Redline in the 5th Gen.

It was mostly suspension and sheet metal tweaks, wasn't it?
No, it was a lot more than that. Lots of information out there about the changes from 4th to 5th gens. Having owned both I prefer the interior and ride of 5th gens, but I like the exterior of the 4th gens better. I will say that 5th gen LED headlights work way better than any headlights you could get on 4th gens.

Yeah, I read that peeps liked the ride and comfort. I read something about they cheaped out on the axles, though - for HD trucks, I got the bullet proof AAM TracRite all gear torsen anti-spin axle. 11.25" dia ring gear. What a beast!

Took them that long to remedy that?

I drank the cool-aid. Used redline previous OC, engine was noticeably loud. No tick just being preventative, History I purchased my truck from dealership in another state with 22,000 miles on her. Maintenance records kept by previous owner showed all maintenance was completed by dealership. I Changed oil using PUP 5w30 & RP20-820 and lubeguard. No noise. Definitely louder using Redline5w30. After 5000 miles did OC went back to PUP5w30 and lubeguard and quiet as can be.

Interesting your recipe worked better than Red Line. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry, but what does OC mean?

one good thing about lubegard strategy is you can wait to dump it in, so in the future someone can gauge engine noise that way, see how oil is and then ad the biotech. I would say hemi tick is it's own thing and different the "engine noise". In the wife's SUV 5w20 redline was quieter then PUP 5w20, but went to 5w30 pup and it was quieter then redline 5w20. In fact I had to change it's name from the old rattle trap because the rattle was gone on 5w30 pup. However, the 5w20 redline erased my hemi tick. bottom line use whatever works, for sure the answer will not always be redline, there is no one product fits all here.

Now I got the exhaust manifold tick @ 60k miles.
The shop didn't want to fix it before it broke.
A$$holes. I wasn't up to having a debate society with them.
Good thing I'm deaf, now.

I switched to Redline 5W-30 at 100k In my 11 5.7, 5 speed with 3.55 gears. 4x4.

I sold it at 150k. Never touched the cam or lifters. The guy who purchased is still driving it. It has 220k on it now. Still on original cam and lifters. I'm certain he's changed the oil. I don't know what he is using.

11s had a high number of cam failures, why does this one not fail? Was it redline or luck of the draw. Who knows.

I do know, I drive long distances frequently. I do know he drives 75 miles to work each way. So 150 miles a day.

Perhaps it because the engine is not idling and is always at speed ?

Who knows I doubt you will ever prove redline is a factor with out a controlled experiment in a lab

I could continue to describe my experience over the 5 other hemi 5.7s that are in my fleet but. I would be boring.
I wonder why '11s had a high failure rate? Was it a batch of inferior lifters or the steel in the cam? My '11 failed at 132,000 and I religiously changed the oil before 6,000 miles.
