Remote door lock 02 Ram

My 02 Ram 1500 didn't come with a key fob, how do I get door remote installed. My local dealership just says I have to get 3rd party install.

It all depends on how your truck came equipped. Do you have the factory installed power locks? If so, there was a Mopar accessory part number to add the RKE module to the truck. It was a very simple plug-n-play setup. If I remember correctly, 56045755AC is the part number.

Once you installed the RKE receiver you could program the key fobs. The module plugs in to the back side of the instrument cluster.
