Can anyone explain the process of programming remote key fobs?

Not in excruiating detail but the general process of how it is done?

Search program a FOB, ton of info already here. Process also changes from the old FOBs to the new, push button start FOBs.

You can pull the PIN code needed with AlfaOBD to program the keyfobs instead of having to get it from the dealership or use a different app.
