The 20-820 filter will not fit that mount. The mount takes a 3/4-16 filter thread and the 20-820 is a 22-1.5 filter thread. Stock is 22-1.5.
Edit: the ph8a filter is a 3/4-16 filter thread and is the proper gasket diameter to fit.

Royal Purple 30-8A is the extended filter that fits 3/4-16 per the TransDapt kit. Ask me how I know ;)

I cancelled the 20-820 order and I'm going to use the 8a. I'll change it tomorrow. Seems like I should be fine. Fram ExtraGuard PH8A

Did anyone have any issues after installing the kit? The barbed fittings and hoses it comes with are a no no and should not be used. It needs AN fittings and braided lines. Also, the transdapt 1127 kit has known manufacturing defects reflected in reviews, machining goes to deep and pinhole spots blow out and leak oil. Not being a nay sayer just havent seen this menrion on this thread..

I had an issue with my original permacool kit and swapped to the 1127 kit and no issues with it thus far. I have about 15,000 miles on that kit I think. The permacool remote filter mount was not machined properly and the filter would not seat well and leaked. I ran AN lines and fittings as well that are also larger than the barbed fittings included in the kit.

I will be doing this mod. Just did my first oil change, not impossible but definitely not ideal. Already installed the ez oil drain plug. I traded my Lexus for my ram, and loved the Toyota filter housing. I want to find something similar, as some members were taking about a protector of some kind for off road. Any ideas? Anyone know if this would work. I like the aluminum housing and replaceable cartridge filter.

I am going with the 1127. Found one for $50. Will this hose/fitting kit work? It’s sized 10an.

Yep, mounted it in the same spot as on page one, used the fittings and hose that came with it. Not bad to install, a little pain to get the adapter on the engine tight but unlike changing the filter every time you need to do this once.

As I prepare to install the remote filter, a question came up. My ram has the factory air suspension. Will that effect the location of the filter. From say off road 2 to entry/exit. Would that cause tension on the hose and fittings, or will it be stationary.

If you mount to the frame you are fine.

It’s in! I found the trans dapt 1127 kit on eBay for 53.16, customer return. I spent $12.50 on a fram ph8a oil filter, if you have a rural king nearby they’re 4.99, some hose clamps and loctite pst592. Throw in 24.24 for an ez valve I bought a couple weeks ago for the first oil change total is 89.90. 65.66 for the relocation kit. Had a hard time getting the filter off that I had put on when I changed the oil. Tried the bag trick the first time and went well, no oil spill. This time the bag dumped all over me and the driveway. Reminding me why I was doing this!! I cleaned all the threads with brake parts cleaner and let dry, then put the loctite on in a coat that filled the threads. Let that cure a bit while I took a nice bath in motor oil. Mobil 1 has a nice scent and flavor! Then I inserted the fittings, I tightened them with a 15/16 open end wrench, as snug as I could with hand only.Installed the adapter in the engine oil thread. Then pushed the hoses in place. Tightening the hose clamps snug. Then I made sure I had enough hose and actually there was more than enough. I didn’t cut the hose, as I didn’t want jagged cuts or or too long too short, while I was on my back under the truck. Now for the remote filter bracket. Same process with open end wrench to tighten fittings before I mounted to the truck. Made a template from card board and drilled into what I learned from this thread is the tow hook mount, for me perfect location. I used a 3/16 drill bit and drilled through the template than hand tightened the 3 included screws. Snugging them with a 3/8 box end wrench. Pushed the hose on the fittings In/out and out/in and tightened the hose clamp. Oiled the gasket on the fram and tightened it snug with my hand. The only thing I had to buy besides the kit was an oil filter. I added hose clamps and thread seal on my own. Now the moment of truth. I had my daughter start the truck, making a signal in case of quick shut off. Not necessary! Nothing shot out. Took her for a spin. 50-60 psi while driving. 51 psi cold idle, 38 warm. I didn’t get the oil very hot as I just drive around the block, but got her up to 75-80 mph, oil temp about 175. Btw, I live in the country, around the block is 3 miles. So I am happy with this and want to change my oil right now, lol. Thanks to OP and all who contributed, appreciate all the tips to help others through this!! Awesome job!! I’ll post pics below. Total time 2 hours.
