I have a 2009 Ram and told the other day that it is equipped with remote start and all I have to do is by the key fob and have the dealer activate it. .....any truth to this?

Not true. You'll have to buy the kit. Runs somewhere around $220

there are a couple options

1. the "db-all" method (aftermarket plug and play unit that utilizes the current FOB by pressing the lock button 3x)
2. the factory kit. i believe if you do the factory kit you also need to have the dealer re-program the truck.

Yes the dealer will have to add the sales code and program the keys

Or if you don't have a alarm all ready you can get the directed alarm witch makes viper and it comes with the remote start and you use your original key fob.
