Removing Interior Door Handle

Hi guys,

A friend of mine fell out of my truck and broke the door handle. I think I found the right replacement (2011 Big Horn):

The problem is that I don't see how to remove the handle. The top part has a bolt going through a plastic bracket, but the bottom is on there somehow that I can't figure out. Do I have to take the whole door apart? If so, I might bring it to the dealer, since I'm not the one paying. This is the last time I offer to be a designated driver.

It has beel a while since I have done this, but I am 99% sure the door panel has to come off.

Thank you, but I should be more specific. I took off the first panel, but does the second panel underneath have to come off too?

I took the inner panel off and replaced it a year ago (don't ask why)... I am racking my brain to remember if that was necessary to move the handle. Sorry bro, I can't say for sure.

Do you remember if the bolt went all the way down through the handle? I'm thinking that maybe my bolt broke, and that the bottom half is still in there preventing me from taking the handle off.

I'm having the same issue. What was the end result in getting the handle off?
