Hi Guys

At my camp we have some huge White and Red Pines, Beautiful trees but in the spring and summer they drop some sap and create a sticky mess.

How can you remove these spots?

I have used hand sanitizer works great on the glass but not sure about the paint.

Thanks
Rick

try an isopropyl alcohol, or a bug/tar remover. Those are good for sap.

I use WD40 or mineral spirits and a clean rag. It will clean it right off.

Here are a few of the products that are recommended at a professional detailer site "autopia"
https://autopia-carcare.ecomm-search.com/search
Enter "sap removal" in the search box

Additionally people recommend alcohol, clay bar, WD-40 and the hand sanitizer you have used. My only problem with a couple of these is the scratches they might leave on the surface. I would always use a microfiber towel to "rub" anything on the surface, and make sure it isn't completely dry. Usually a clay bar doesn't leave scratches if you use enough clay lube. Others may have additional suggestions.

Have this issue in our area with Pine tree's and other rude tree's. Been using the Turtle Wax-bug and tar remover for years. It works.
