Haha I like the way you think.
I replaced my highbeams with 9011s, but am happy with the output of the 9005s for the fogs; in fact, I haven't used my highbeams since I changed to 9005 fogs,

So after doing a bit of research, I found this article:

http://store.candlepower.com/mohirbuba.html

It says to use 9011 in place of factory 9005 bulbs, and use 9012 in place of factory 9006 bulbs.

Okay, I think I lost track here..lol So we are going to replace our factory fog light (9005) with (9011) or our headlamp (9005) with the (9011)? I thought our 4th gen set ups were H11's for lows, 9005 for highs and H10's for our fog lights?

4th Gens changed a bit for 2013 in that the OEM fog lights went from being 9145 to 9006. The OEM high beams are still 9005, so according to the above information you can swap 9005 for 9011.

My head hurts.

Couple of questions: If you replace the 9005 and 9006 bulbs in the high beams and fogs respectively (I have a 2014 that uses 9006 in the fogs) does it bother the CANbus at all? As these are higher power bulbs, I'd think there'd be a voltage difference.

Has anyone actually done this?

My truck uses 9006 for the fogs, so I'd look at the 9012 bulb. But I'm curious about the temperature of the light output. I have 6000K LED bulbs in my low beams and my fogs are a bit more yellow (lower K temp) than these. How does the color of the 9012 bulb compare? Is it whiter and a better match for the LEDs?
