@chaney in those pics those look like a pure white, no blue.

This is the problem I'm having with wanting hids, some say true color which seem to be whiter, some are cheaper brands and the 6000k are ricer blue. Think ill just rock my slyvania zxe for another year or so.

6000k are DEFINATELY not ricer blue. It not even blue. Many upon many members her run 6000k
So it's far from ricer.

5k = warm white
6k = cool white

I say the most common temps are 5k, 6k and 8k

I'll have to agree, I think the cheaper kits have a tint of blue. My old 35w 6000k kit had a little blue

I prefer 6000k but I find pictures like this and it freaks me out
This is supposed to be 6000k and looks nothing like Chaneys pictures

Pictures don't really do HID's any justice for color when they are head on. Always seems like they get a different tint to them.

Because each kit made from other manufacturers will have different specs and appear different.

Personally, using cheaper kits and then using Retro Solution HIDs (although slightly more), I would not go back. Retro Solution HID kits are pretty dead on on color temp.

That's at least 8k if not 10k. Those are very blue.

It's not uncommon companies send out the wrong bulb temp too, or they get mis-labled and the wrong ones get sent.

There is a lot of things that effect the 'blue'

I have 6000°K in my Ram with 35W ballasts, they certainly have a blue tint.
Same bulbs pushed with a 50W ballast look pure white. 8000°K will always be blue.

In the new car, I'm going with 55W 4300°K (Stock HID D2S bulbs, not re-based H1 stuff).
Going to be a thing of beauty!

Ok I need some help, I'm adjusting my headlights and I'm trying to figure out why I don't have a even pattern of light. There's a hot spot with more light output on the drivers side and not as much light on the pass side.

Why is it doing this and what do I adjust to fix it?

can you post up a pic of the light output?

Might just need to adjust the bulb a hair. there is a little play in there, so if its seated a little odd, it could impact the output.

I brought both lights up a tad it helped some. I know they won't be perfect but I'm just trying to get it where it won't bug me. This flickering is getting worse, about to shoot them a email now. What do I need to tell them?
