I have a 2020 1500 Bighorn Tradesman that I'm replacing the the basic head unit ( non amplified system) to a aftermarket one. I need to tap into the reverse wire for the aftermarket radio's trigger wire. If anyone knows where it is located under the driver side area I will appreciate it A LOT. Thanks

Yes I am and Yes it is on the radio itself but the idata harness for the maestro rr does not have it. I can't use the factory camera with the aftermarket radio because the factory radio controls the power and video feed. I need to replace the camera and power it continuously but I need the radio to switch screens when it's switched to reverse.

Gotcha

My point was, you should be able to draw that reverse power from the oem radio harness

I bet there would be a way to use the factory back up cam with some creative wiring

Thank you for the response. I was given a defective idata harness HRN-RR-CH3 for my RR. For some odd reason it did not have the reverse purple white wire. So I returned it and got an replacement. I had doubts of it due to the box was open but I did not think of anything because the wires are not spliced and it looked unused. So that problem solved. I ordered some fakra adapter for me to be able to utilize the factory cable to hook up the aftermarket camera to the Kenwood deck and hook up power from the camera to the 7 pin in trailer hook up to power the camera. At least that's the plan.

Sounds like you got it licked, it's cool what you can do with a conversion harness

I think I pulled power from the 7 pin on my truck too, when i installed the back up cam

I have watched a lot of YouTube videos about installing aftermarket units on these trucks and I can tell you, these computers and modules they put in these vehicles are no joke! Thousands of dollars if you mess it up. It was so much easier back in the 80's and 90's.

I dont know man, I bought an aftermarket radio for the truck, harness was plug and play, I just needed a conversion for my aftermarket back up camera (the new headunit came with one, but it was easier to convert the wiring than to run a new one)

When I swapped a new headunit into my '71 duster I had to make the harness myself, cut and splice

Not a big deal, but definitely not a plug and play like the truck
