I ordered an oil dipstick, from Rock Auto, for my mother's car. When I got the package it was sealed, but, no dipstick in it. Contacted Rock Auto and they sent me another one. No problem. I buy most of my parts from them. Never had any real issues, except for shipping charges occasionally.

Man ! I really appreciate all the input here. Thank yall so much for the input, it's really appreciated. Has anyone else done the cv's on a 2010 1500 ? All the videos I am finding only show the driver side wondering if the passenger side is different ? I know the intermediate shaft is different on that side but curious if the process is the same or if there are additional steps ? Thanks again everyone

Rock Auto. I have used Dorman front end parts before on cars and have had no problems.

Dorman has upped their game. The plastic oil cooler assembly/filter housing on the Pentastar 3.6's that always fail...they created a cast aluminum one that the factory oil cooler transfers over to.

My niece got the one from Mishimoto, for her dad's Charger. Said it fit perfectly and no problems installing it.

never amazon, for well really anything if it can be helped, rock auto I've tried, pretty good, Dorman seems pretty widely available, for really specific ones I shop around a lot, seen the same part with different build quality and so much plastic, try to find more metal if possible just for quality.

Decided to tackle some front end work on my 2010 1500. Looking to replace both cv axles as well as sway bar links and inner and outer tie rods. Figured I might as well do it all at once while I'm in there. Do yall prefer buying parts from rock auto or Amazon ? Amazon has cheaper prices on cheaper products but rock has better prices on higher quality parts is what I've seen. Hoping for a little input based on previous experiences. Thanks for any replys
Rock is good, also parts geek, amazon has counterfeit parts

Rock Auto. Not Amazon for parts.

We had bad results with Moog for U Joints - disintegrated after 1 year. Chineseum knockoffs.

Ended up with SKF, at least made in Mexico. Almost nothing is USA anymore. Not even SKF or Torrington.
Because cheap = good!!!
Try Spicer for U joints, I've had nothing but great results

Rockauto is my go to for auto parts. Local stores if I need something now.

Amazon I only buy from if I have to and I make sure to check who is actually selling the part. If its a seller with a 73% positive rating I pass. Also watch your prices on Amazon/ebay, if it usually retails for $200 and its on one of those sites for $63.99 its most likely a counterfeit.

I will never buy parts from Amazon, prices are great, but the parts may be defective, counterfeit, or ? The price looks great until you break down 1,500 miles from home and 40 miles from a paved road. Been there, paid the price.
ROCK AUTO for me.

Sooo, I said I would buy the following parts from Amazon:

1) Oil filters
2) Air filters
3) Spark Plugs
4) Crankshaft Position Sensor

Dorman crankshaft position sensor for '06 Chrysler 300. Purchased from Amazon. OE part on the left (of course). At least I didn't need to put it on the vehicle to find the problem.

Got one from O'Reillys in the next town - 300 is back on the road.

Buying spark plugs from either amazon or ebay is a big mistake, the majority of them are fake knock-offs.

I've had good luck with plugs and filters... BUT I'm a lot more careful who I buy them from

The Crank Position Sensor is partially my fault. I picked a brand that I recognized and a decent rating (3.8*). If I had actually looked at the reviews I would have seen that all of the reviews from the States said the part was crap.

Speed kills.

The car is 19 years old and seems to be eating a CPS every 10 years. I may get another shot at it in 2035.

Google fake spark plugs on amazon and ebay, you'll get your eyes opened up ;) It's bad enough even NGK and Denso have video's up on how to actually identify their plugs from the fake plugs on both sites
