Hey everyone First Post!
Been searching around and came across this amazing forum. I still can't get my head around what I'm doing. 2014 Ram 1500 did an update cause GPS, Radio, and other things were getting wonky. Went to Uconnect and downloaded what it told me to and then I uploaded it using a thumb drive. Needless to say, I got the endless loop. After reading this forum was I supposed to upload firmware or something first? I believe this is the first update that has been done since 2017. Please help, losing my mind, already ripped the radio out and checked connections and still have 67 percent and an endless loop.

Leave the USB update stick in the port overnight with battery charger hooked up to keep the battery voltage up and it 'may' recover from the fault. If not, you may have to send the radio in for repair or replace it.

Hey yall, I was wondering if it is worth it to try and update to the 18.45 update for the ra4 8.4 uconnect 68238619AG, I currently have the 18.11.07 update after doing the upgrade from an ra2. My radio is working perfectly fine now, just wondering if the new update has any significant differences, and if so which file would I need since I didn't see my version listed on the PowerPoint software levels.

Is your current radio, the original radio ?

If it is, go online & visit this site

something that you should know, if you are a few updates behind, you have to do them in order, you can not skip any

18.11.x is basically the OTA GPS/time sync bug fix that's the same as the manual download version of v18.45.x. in post 3

There's no reason why you can't install v18.45.x from post 3 , but there's always a chance of bricking the radio with any update... So the risk is yours.

Mpgrimm2 is the member that helped me to update

I don't know, if you having a Canadian vehicle makes any difference

My 2015 Ram 2500 with 8.4 unit is on firmware 18.11.07, checked my VIN and it says the 18.45.01 update is available for my truck. Curious if there is any real benefit to upgrading the firmware of I should just avoid the risk of bricking the radio. I don’t use the navigation if that makes any difference.

I had to update my 2016 8.4 Navigation radio, because i used my Navigation almost every day.
I bought the newest Navigation Maps & i had to update the Firmware, because the Navigation showed my vehicle as being several miles away from its real location.

Just did this update yesterday from 18.11.07 to 18.45.01. My radio was acting stupid with the GPS location being way off sometimes and the SXM not knowing what to do. The update took around 25 minutes, with truck on bat charger. Used my old reliable 10 year old Lexar 32 gig usb drive. Was nervous about bricking radio, but process was seamless.

Radio touch screen now responds faster, it seems, I see a couple of buttons I didn't notice before (but to be honest, I wasn't looking for them before) and Nav comes right up with the actual location. Will do the Nav update this weekend / early next week when the drive gets here tomorrow.

New here...
I have a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 with an 8.4" inch screen with 18.45.01 RA3/VP3 installed, do I need to or should I attempt to upgrade it to RA4/VP4? everything is working as it should ATM. Would really like to upgrade it to Android/Apple Car play with Nav. What is the easiest and cheapest option retaining full factory look and full functionality? I have NAV, built in steering controls, Sirius XM subscription, and Alpine surround with Sub.
