i have searched a little bit today while at work about 4th gen roof leaks and it seems common that the 3rd brake light seal causes leaks? Mine just started today and i have water pouring out from the back passenger corner of my headliner right into the back seat. Is this something covered under warantee or am i better off fixing it myself?

Either 3rd light or the antenna if it's on the back right side like my 2010.
Vipmotoz sells a double-sided adhesive backed gasket for the 3rd light for less than $10 on Amazon.

Should be covered by the warranty, but Ram's fix is to silicone the CHMSL from what I've read here. That'll make it a pain to replace blown bulbs. A few on here have replaced the gasket with this.

I wonder if Ram would repair the water damage and let you replace the gasket?
My headliner is waterdamaged im sure my seat will be to. Makes me wanna sell the thing. Shouldnt have to deal with this on a 2 year old truck

It's a ****** for sure and seems like if it's going to happen, it happens within the first year or two from new.

My dealer's fix was to replace the 3rd brake light, which is still holding after about 1.5yrs. they did it free under the 3/36 warranty.

I understand, just ****** a guy off

I hear ya if you read my thread I suffered some loss as well, but point is this is a less than 10 dollar and 5 minute fix, mine hasn't leaked since and many other guys as well. If you look at the pic and follow that, it ensures it just wont leak. Beyond me why fca doesn't use that stuff. Take note of the rectangular U that you should apply this stuff, then you connect it the exact way posted. If you put the u above the line it can leak, this way it can't leak. Mind you my pic is upside down, make a u so top of break light has no crevice.

This was a problem in the 2nd gens, too. Luckily, after having mine for 18 years, mine never leaked. Guess I just lucked out. That's what irks me, though. It's been a problem for that long, yet Mopar has done nothing about it.

I had the same issue on my third brake light. My truck isn't daily driven so it was awhile before the condensation on the inside of my windshield caught my attention. Back of the cab was pretty darn wet..I was upset about that for sure. That foam stuff from the hardware fixed it though. Figured it was a better option than the silicone fix ram had.
