Any Anybody using roof racks to haul 2 kayaks?
Looking for ideas on how to haul kayaks towing a 5th wheel.
What type and brands are you guys using and what are the pros and cons?

I think you would stick out too far back depending on kayak length, bed length, and truck cab style. Perhaps taking the tailgate off and put one kayak on each side of hitch in bed. Again depending on length of bed. Good luck.

Yeah I wasn't thinking right when I posted it. I think the best bet is a front hitch mount with a T bar in the front and a ladder rack which I already have on the front of the bed.

How long are the kayaks? I made a reciever rack system for the back of the 5er to hold 2 kayaks standing straight up against the back. I made a bike rack reciever on the pinbox so I had room for the kayaks at the back. If interested I can post pics tomorrow.

That would be great 18CrewDually. Our kayaks are 12 and 14 feet so they are probably too long for that type of mount but would like to see it.

Yup, too long. My tandem is 14' so it is too long but the little sit on tops fit fine. I'll have to get the rack out and set it up for pics. I welded a 4"x4" .25" wall tube across the frame with 3- 2" hitch receivers. Kayak on each side and trailer hitch in the center (I occasionally double tow).

Protech makes a headache rack and a matching rear post. The rear post is removable and is super strong. Had one on my 4th gen 1500 as well.
