Oiled filters are more porous to allow more air through, and that is why they require oil to catch the dirt. Dry filters are slightly more restrictive because they have smaller pores, and that is why they do not require oil to prevent dirt from coming through. Both work perfectly fine, and I have yet to see a measurable difference between the 2 types of filters on the track or dyno.
Oiled will be cheaper in the end because you can keep it for the life of the truck. Dry filter will be more expensive in the end, but the dry filter is easier to maintain...simply throw it away and replace it once it gets dirty.
