I have a rock scratch that is all the way down to the primer on the rear passenger side door down low. I really do not want to pay a body/paint shop to repair it because they always charge out the ***** for it. Does anyone have any tips/solutions/suggestions on how to fix it? I know I'll have to get some touch up paint from the dealer since no one seems to carry the Dark Cherry Red color yet.

I would stick to dealer touch up paint to be totally honest...our PT Cruiser has a couple scratches that have been touched up with Duplicolor Scratch Fix (its bright silver metallic) and if you look at it at certain angles the touch up marks stick out like a sore thumb.

silver is horrible for matching though too.

Heck, any metallic paint sucks!

One trick on these, as the paint is drying, you can wipe the brush back over it and "pull" the metallic back up to the top, which will help in matching color on it.

Well if I just painted with the touch up paint your gonna see the somewhat of a "gouge" if you will... I've seen these kits that you can get some sort of filler and use that, does anyone have any experience with those? Or I may just have to keep putting coat upon coat of touch up paint then a few coats of clear with wet sanding in between all of them in order to make it look like new again..
